Andrea Victoria was born July 11th , 1973.
She inherited her drawing talent from her father who is an excellent Artist and always
supported her creativity, and throughout her artistic evolution.
Since her early childhood she was motivated through drawing, although being the
perfectionist she was, was always dissatisfied with her work.
"When I was 3 years old I had an accident were I fell and stuck a pencil into my
throat. Even that didnt stop me."
From the age of 4, her first drawing was displayed and honored in an
exhibition at the City Theater. Nursery school teachers and teachers noticed her
talent and she visited art academies during her holidays, where she learned new
techniques.
During this time, she created Wood Cuttings and Sculptures wich were displayed
and received honors.
"I never cared about what other people said about my drawings because I was never satisfied
with them..." , says the now 34 years old artist.
"Art its the greatest thing for me when I render a person as authentically as possible and
it makes him or her happy. But I thing my own dissatisfaction will never be
completely satiated."
In February 2002 the Artist married her Husband, Jens, who is also a talented Artist.
Their relationship improved her technical knowledge and showed her new possibilities,
through mutual collaboration on Projects.
The transition to the Portrait Drawing was fluent. The key experience happened in 1992, for
Andrea Victoria:
"I did alot of travelling at that time and when I visited Paris I met Street Artists
on the Champs Elysees. They were drawing tourists for money and were so amazingly good that
I watched them, and their techniques for hours."
But like so often her doubts about herself made her start only very slowly.
"I didnt have the right models for the type of Portraits I wanted to do. But then I saw
these dolls for the first time! They looked that lively and detailed, I was completely
fascinated by them. It was if they had a soul and I tried to capture that in my
Work. The results can be seen in the "Darlings"series."
She went on to do Portraits of Musicians, Friends and Family Members.
Following that, requests, then orders followed.
Then another important event.
"I saw the pictures of Henrik for the first time at Deviant Art. He is a Dutch Artist
and became my biggest paragon. His works were so perfect, realistic and
livelike that I first thought they were Photographs. I felt depressed after seing how
skillful he was!" ,says the Artist today in the retrospect.
But then came a real challenge with a Promotional Photo of her friend, and Artist
Adam Absinthe in the US.
So she started again and the best picture that she created untill that time was
done.
"When Adam received the picture he was amazed by it it. It was a great compliment to me
because he is also a Painter and gifted at Drawings, so his reaction was the best
compliment I could ever have gotten."
But the biggest surprise`s was yet to come. With her last project came a growing confidence
in her work, that gave her the courage to let the World see more of her Work:
"I uploaded the drawing into my online gallery at Deviant Art and a short time later I
received a comment from my biggest inspiration: Henrik!"
"Because of the geographic challenge to my models, I work mostly with photos. But
I try to get a conection or synergy to them during my Work by listening to their music,
knowing where they are (when they are touring for example) and what time of day it is where
they´re at. Sometimes we even have the opportunity to get in contact via the Internet while
I work, and that gives me the feeling that they are sitting right in front of
me."
